Blog Spotlight: Weddings in a Box!

It time to spotlight another blog that has some good examples of doing it right. This week in the spotlight is Weddings in a Box!, a blog dedicated to all things related to weddings. Overall, I like the site. It is easy to read and the simple, yet elegant layout make the information on the site very accessible. The text is colorful, yet easy to read. This give interest to the site without detracting from the message of the site. The current post has a few images. The images help break up the text and make the site more readable. However, the older posts are missing images. An image or two can go a long way to making any given post more enjoyable. The site is also a good example of a site that would build an income stream. Everything on the blog is on-topic. No rants about how wonderful your cat is. The title and the content agree. When you go to this site, you expect to find out about weddings and indeed you do. This is great for both search engine spiders as well as building a community. One minor suggestion for improvement: Fully 1/3 of the horizontal real estate of the page is taken up by a picture of a rose. While I like the picture, I would like to have more horizontal space for text. Maybe a new layout that still incorporates the picture of the rose yet gives more room for the content of the page would be a nice change.
